Right by Haukalivatnet, 5 minutes from Lysefjorden and 20 minutes from the parking lot at Preikestolen, you will find Jokulheim – surrounded by spectacular mountains and classic Norwegian nature.

The drive over Botsheia and along Lysefjorden is a nature experience in itself. Here you will pass the world-famous Esmark Moraine, which is on the World Heritage List, and can swim in the crystal clear waters of Haukalivatnet – which at one time was proof that Norway had been completely covered in ice, after the work done by Professor Jens Esmark who proved the ice age in Norway (hence the Esmark Moraine).

Jokulheim is a traditional wood-fired sauna located right by Haukalivatnet, and has its own pier so that you can easily swim in the clean water. Here you get the feeling of traveling 150 years back in time, and can lower your shoulders and enjoy total peace and quiet in scenic surroundings far away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The sauna will be prepared and fully heated upon arrival, and can comfortably accommodate 6 people. There is a spacious cloakroom for storing belongings during the session, and free parking is nearby.

However, for Booksauna sauna guests we have arranged a special offer: fully prepared accommodation for up to 6 people in the farmhouse from 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM the next day, with a sauna session and swimming in the evening, and afterwards a fully heated traditional wood-fired stone oven for pizza or other pastries brought along – for a total price of 5000 NOK for the accommodation.
